Donations & Sponsorships
Bathurst Community Transport is reliant on donations, grants and sponsorships – any amount over $2 is tax deductible.
Without donations from our generous community – of which there are many – grants from Clubgrants and the sponsorships we receive from Reliance Credit Union ($15,000 per year) and the University of Western Sydney, School of Medicine ($10,000 per year) we would not be able to provide the Bathurst Radiation Bus Service. This service runs five days per week, 51 weeks per year to support people from Bathurst and outlying areas to attend Orange Base Hospital for their radiation treatment. Some of these people need to travel with this service for up to eight weeks, so you can imagine how much this service is appreciated by those who unfortunately need to use it.
Other areas of our service we use donations for:
- Halving the cost for our clients to access medical treatment and appointments in Sydney. The Bathurst Lions Club has supported our service now for two years by providing specific funding to do just this.
- Purchase of a portable oxygen concentrator. Having the use of a portable oxygen concentrator makes the journey and appointment times much more comfortable for our clients, and is much safer to carry in our vehicles than cylinders. The money for the portable oxygen concentrator was donated by Bathurst Rotary Daybreak.
- Assisting clients who are not in a financial situation to cover the contribution cost of their transport.
