Radiation Bus Feedback
  • Had a wonderful experience on the bus not being a Bathurst resident. I am extremely grateful for the service – it freed my carer for some time at what was a very difficult treatment. It gave me some independence back and to meet some wonderful friends in the process. I have been telling everyone how good it is and hope it will continue.
  • Everyone using this service was there for the same reason – we became friends and looked out for each other. Thank you for the opportunity of having this service to use.
  • The transport service was excellent; saved me a lot of stress to drive to Orange for the treatment.
  • I’m told laughter does good like medicine and there was good humour and cheerfulness on the bus.
  • The service was very efficient and reliable. Would recommend it to any person needing the same treatment.
  • Very grateful for this service.
  • Fantastic service.
  • I applaud this initiative and would recommend it to all who travel for treatment. Sharing stories and experiences with others helps in dealing with the demands of treatment.
  • This is a fantastic service which relieves a lot of the stress associated with the experience people are going through.
  • Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you and thank you for the wonderful service.
  • Friendships were established and many of us still keep in touch. A few phone calls sees us meeting up down the street for coffee. We continue to keep in touch with regard to others progress. We are there for each other.
  • Great service run by great people for people who have sad stories to face. I think it is a great comfort for the travellers to be able to talk things through with other patients having the same conditions and treatments.
  • I was able to make some new friends and on occasion when I wasn’t feeling well the group rallied around and made sure I was able to make the return trip home.
  • Good companionship. Having driven own cars, I can appreciate their driving standards etc.
  • We as a community are so grateful for this service. Patients and carers are going through so much turmoil. Thank you for being there.
  • I had little idea of the services available for a person experiencing terminal cancer. Mum’s experience on the bus provided her with adventure when she was most vulnerable, a sense of belonging with her companions, an opportunity to have a coffee and a muffin, and gave her some freedom in the short period of time. It made her very happy. She had stories to tell about what she had seen and done. She observed others in similar circumstances and it was comforting not being alone. Mum passed away in November 2014.
